Physicians

B.J. Pomerants, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. B.J. Pomerants is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He currently practices at Dublin Methodist Hospital, Riverside Methodist Hospital, and Doctors Hospital. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgery at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Dr. Pomerants is also on the teaching staff of Doctors Hospital and on the staff of Select Specialty Hospital.

Dr. Pomerants is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He specializes in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. This includes laparoscopic surgery of the gallbladder, colon, and appendix, as well as laparoscopic hernia repair. He has special interest in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dr. Pomerants is a graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital where he served as chief resident. He has over 15 years of general surgery experience and has been named in America's Top Physicians 2010 and 2011. He currently resides in Columbus with his wife and their three children.

Stephen M. Glatz, M.D.

Dr. Stephen Glatz is a specialist in general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and endoscopy. Dr. Glatz is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton, Dr. Glatz received his medical degree from West Virginia University. He completed general surgery residency at the University of Louisville in 2007, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Glatz served as a faculty member at the University of Louisville Department of Surgery prior to joining Columbus Surgical Associates in 2008. He currently practices at Dublin Methodist Hospital, Riverside Methodist Hospital, and Doctors Hospital. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Glatz also serves on hospital leadership committees at Dublin Methodist Hospital

Dr. Glatz is a member of the American Medical Association, and he serves a member of the teaching faculty of surgeons at Doctors Hospital. He has received several patient satisfaction recognitions at Dublin Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Glatz's practice is dedicated to treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. He has special interests in surgery of the gastrointestinal system and minimally invasive procedures. He has performed countless laparoscopic procedures for hernia repair, colon cancer, and gallbladder diseases. He is also trained in the performance of gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr. Glatz lives in Dublin with his wife and two children.

Jason D. Shoemaker, D.O.

Dr. Jason Shoemaker is General Surgeon Practicing in all aspects of general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, Robotic assisted Laparoscopic Surgery as well as upper and lower  endoscopy. Dr. Shoemaker is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science degree from Western Carolina University, Dr. Shoemaker received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee. He completed general surgery residency through the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital and Grant Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident.

Dr. Shoemaker joined Columbus Surgical Associates in August of 2017. He currently practices at Dublin Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital and Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Shoemaker is also a staff surgeon for Select Specialty South Hospital in Columbus.  In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Shoemaker also serves as a member of the teaching faculty at Doctor’s Hospital for Surgical Resident training. 

Dr. Shoemaker is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Association.  Dr. Shoemaker has received awards for anatomic dissection and anatomic teaching while a resident and chief resident.

Dr. Shoemaker’s practice is dedicated to treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. He has special interests in surgery of the abdominal wall and complex hernia repair. He has performed numerous open and laparoscopic procedures for hernia repair, colon cancer, and gallbladder diseases. He also performs surgery for cancer related diagnosis of the GI Tract, colon and thyroid. Dr. Shoemaker also incorporates Robotic assisted surgery in select cases.  wHe is also trained in the performance of gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr. Shoemaker lives in the Columbus area with his wife and two children.
